SheepCat is free to download and use under the AGPLv3. However, AGPLv3 requires that if you modify SheepCat and distribute it or offer it as a network service to others, those modifications must be released as open source under the same licence. If you want to modify SheepCat and distribute or deploy it without that obligation, you need a Commercial Licence. Think of it as buying the right to keep your modifications private when sharing or deploying your version.
Both plans grant identical commercial rights. The Annual Subscription (£8.99/yr) renews automatically — ideal for ongoing use at the lowest annual price. The One-Off Yearly Licence (£15.99) is a single payment valid for one year with no auto-renewal.
Your payment confirmation reference is your licence. Keep your payment confirmation email safe — it serves as proof of your Commercial Licence. If you need a formal licence document, contact chadwicksys13@gmail.com with your payment reference.
Yes, you can cancel any time from your payment account. You'll retain commercial rights until the end of your current billing period.
Once installed, SheepCat runs entirely offline. An internet connection is only needed to download the app and, optionally, to pull Ollama LLM models.
SheepCat runs on any platform that supports Python 3.7+ and Tkinter — Windows, macOS, and Linux.
